We are thrilled to announce that we are organizing the III Latin American Course of Neuroepidemiology, which will take place in Yantalo, Peru! This immersive, 5-day course will be held between 2025 and early 2026 (dates to be confirmed).

This course, organized by the Specialty Group on Neuroepidemiology - World Federation of Neurology, aims to strengthen neuroepidemiological research in Latin America. With a focus on epidemiological methods, participants will dive into key topics like population surveys, case-control studies, cohort studies, and clinical trials, with emphasis on neurological disorders. The goal is to equip neurology residents, junior neurologists and any interested health provider with the tools needed to conduct impactful research on neurological diseases.

🧠 Why is this course important?
Neurological disorders are among the leading causes of disease burden worldwide, significantly impacting public health, social systems, and economies. In particular, population aging is driving an increase in neurological diseases, presenting a growing public health challenge in Latin America. This course offers a unique opportunity to learn research methodologies aimed at addressing key issues such as the prevalence of neurological diseases, morbidity patterns, and the identification of environmental and genetic risk factors at the population level. Additionally, it provides a platform for generating ideas and fostering collaborations to advance research in this critical field, especially in Latin America.
